Preparations are in full swing for
Light+Building 2010, a leading global trade fair for architecture and technology taking place April 11-16 in Frankfurt, Germany. Since it launched in 2000, the fair has carved out a reputation as an international hot spot for product innovation and technological trends.
Manufacturers representing more than 50 countries use the fair to launch trends and innovations from the fields of lighting, electrical engineering and building automation.
The biannual show is the largest industry forum in its sector, with more than 2,200 exhibitors. The last edition in 2008 attracted more than 167,000 architects, engineers and planners, representing a 23 percent increase from the previous event. The international profile of the event grew with more than 40 percent of key buyers coming from outside of Germany.
Not surprisingly, a major theme this year will be energy efficiency. New products and presentations will emphasize how compact fluorescent light fixtures and LED lights can improve public and residential spaces.
