The inaugural InspireDesign show, which launched in February at World Market Center Las Vegas, was host to a new design awards competition, the “Design Excellence Awards,” presented by Interior Design magazine.
The awards recognized several companies across home furnishings and hospitality categories: general product, sofas, tiles, desks, chairs, fabrics and of course, lighting.
Global Views, a home decor wholesaler, was recognized for its new three-light lamp and AF Lighting was recognized for its Candice Olson Collection.
Olson, who hosts the "Divine Design" series on HGTV, designs a wide array of lighting fixtures exclusively for AF Lighting. The designs in the InspireDesign display were her new additions for the contract and hospitality markets.
Interior Design Editor-in-Chief Cindy Allen, along with guest judges Yoshiko Sato/Michael Morris of Morris Sato Studio; D.B. Kim; David Ashen of D-Ash Design; Alice O’Keefe of Gensler identified and presented the awards to the winning companies.
Other winning designs include the Stimex Desk Uno by Karim Rashid, the Phillips Collection’s Silver Console, Kohler’s eco-faucet and McGuire’s Walnut Swivel Chairs.
